BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State officials, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Southern University officials in Baton Rouge are working to prevent a road on the Southern campus from falling into a ravine.
The corps said in a Thursday news release that they are working to correct soil and stream bank erosion along a ravine at an intersection on campus. Corps project manager Nick Sims said the project began with the excavation of about 150 feet of the ravine. Installation of a culvert and rip-rap for erosion protection will follow.
