The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office has received a report from Jefferson Davis Parish Coroner, Dr., C.J. Deese, concerning the manner of death of Jayce Dupuis. Dupuis was the focus of an intense air, ground, and water search by many law enforcement agencies throughout Southwest Louisiana. Law enforcement authorities found Jayce's body under a railroad trestle near the intersection of Alice Street and Shannon Drive on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Physical and Forensic evidence taken at the scene showed a single gunshot wound to the head. The high-powered rifle recovered on the body had been taken from the house of a friend of Jayce Dupuis. Evidence and autopsy results indicate the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
