The coroner in East Baton Rouge Parish has issued his report on the death of a pilot whose small plane crashed in Baker last week.
The report lists 71-year-old John Fowler's death as an accident and said causes of death included blunt force trauma, fire and what the report described as "inhalation injuries."
Fowler, of Brookhaven, Miss., died after the plane crashed and exploded in a Baker subdivision Friday, shortly after taking off from Baton Rouge Metro Airport. Fowler had been the only person aboard the plane. Two homes caught fire in Friday's crash but nobody else was hurt.
