Our coverage of an alleged animal hoarding case in St. Landry Parish continues today at 5 and 6. Deputies say Donald Lafleur of Lawtell is charged with animal cruelty. Investigators went to his home on Highway 752 after neighbors complained of an awful smell coming from the area. Once they arrived, animal control officers say they found more than 1,500 animals. Deputies say the inside of the home was littered with cages and fecal matter. Today at 5 and 6, KATC's Valerie Ponseti talks to animal control officers who say this is one of the worst cases they've ever seen.
