Conferences extend pact for New Orleans Bowl

NEW ORLEANS (AP) A contract extension ensures that the top teams from Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference will meet in the New Orleans Bowl through the 2013 football season.
The conferences' signing of four-year contract extensions was announced Tuesday by bowl organizers.
The Sun Belt Conference champion has earned an invitation to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl since 2001. Conference USA signed on a year later.
ESPN's telecast of the 2009 bowl game is Dec. 20 at the Louisiana Superdome.
