After a rather damp start to the weekend conditions will continue to improve for the remainder of the weekend. Sunday will see the skies starting to clear out, and with the sunshine temperatures will bounce back to normal.
Highs will be in the low 60s Sunday afternoon and the lows will bottom out in the low 40s. A southwesterly flow will prevent Acadiana from clearing out completely. A few clouds will linger across the region and will start thickening up Sunday night.
Slight rain chances may return for the start of the work week, but it looks as if the heavier rains will remain offshore and too our east. Still it would be unwise to rule out rain chances completely.
As for New Year's Eve any plans you have to usher in the new year shouldn't have any weather related issues, however, the forecast becomes much more complicated by mid week. Energy riding through the subtropical jet may fire up some showers but they will be difficult to pinpoint. Make sure that you stay tuned to KATC for the latest forecast information.
