LULING, La. (AP) - The Hale Boggs Bridge in Luling will be closed this weekend.
The bridge on Interstate 310 will be completely closed to move equipment to the west bank side of the bridge, for the continuation of a cable replacement project. Construction crews will be moving heavy equipment. The size and weight of the cranes forced officials to restrict traffic during the move.
The bridge will be closed to traffic in both the northbound and southbound directions, starting Friday at 7 p.m. and ending at 4 a.m. Monday.
Motorists may detour via the Huey P. Long Bridge or the Mississippi River Bridge at Gramercy.
