LOCKPORT, La. (AP) - A community center will be built on 5 acres of donated land at a cost of about $2 million, Lockport officials say.
The Daily Comet reports a design hasn't yet been drawn up for the structure, which will be at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 305 and Louisiana Highway 655.
The site was donated by Valentine Chemical Co.
Lafourche Parish Councilman Phillip Gouaux says the goal is to have the community center completed by summer 2014.
