Comeaux NJROTC Link & Bun Sale to support educational trip to Naval Base

Comeaux High Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets have been offered a rare opportunityto to experience the Navy for themselves while bunking at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., during an educational summer trip.

The 32 Spartan NJROTC cadets making this educational trek from June 2-6 earned this privilege by their completion of a collective 800 community service hours and participation in 70 color guard events during the 2013-2014 school year, but they can only attend if they raise enough money by the close of the business day tomorrow.

To raise the more than $7,000 in transportation costs, the Comeaux High NJROTC unit is holding a Link & Bun Sale at the Lions Club on LA 92 across from Pat's Grocery in Youngsville. The use of a commercial-sized BBQ pit was graciously donated by United Vision. Lunch pickup will begin at noon on Friday.

To make donations or for more information about Friday's Link & Bun Sale, call or email Nancy Dougherty or Cadet Hicks at 337-552-5997 or nancydougherty@yahoo.com.
