CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - The bicentennial of Louisiana statehood is the topic of a Sept. 12 presentation planned at Nunez Community College.
The session kicks off the 10th year of a series of historical lectures and will be presented by Nunez history professor Ron Chapman.
Louisiana officially became a state on April 30, 1812.
The program is free and will start at 7 p.m. in the auditorium on the Chalmette campus.
