Colfax boy dies when pickup flips over

COLFAX, La. (AP) - A 12-year-old Colfax boy died when a pickup ran off the road and flipped, throwing the victim from the vehicle.
State police say Michael T. Sykes was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, 54-year-old Michael W. Sykes, also of Colfax, sustained moderate injuries. He had been wearing a seat belt.
Troopers responded to the crash around 11:50 a.m. on La. Highway 492 near La. Highway 8 south of Colfax.
Troopers say the driver lost control, drove off the road, hit an entrance to a driveway before going into a ditch and then hitting a second driveway.
