NEW ORLEANS (AP) - It may not be a white Christmas but it sure will be cold across Louisiana.
The National Weather Service expects up to 3 inches of rain across northern stretches through Thursday. A flash flood watch has been issued for parts of northeast Louisiana and west Mississippi
Lesser rainfall amounts are expected in south Louisiana, but even the inch or so possible in areas like New Orleans will only add to the impressive totals already racked up this month - and pile on to the cleanup some southeast Louisiana residents continue doing following last week's flooding rains.
Forecasters expect the system to move through quickly, leaving cold temperatures behind it for the holiday Friday, with highs in the 40s in the north, 50s in the south.
