A 119 year old record fell in Alexandria this morning. The low of 25 degrees breaks the old record of 33 set back in 1894! Other records were threatened across Acadiana, but not broken. The low of 37 degrees in Lafayette missed the current record of 34 set back in 1955. New Iberia dropped to 38 degrees missing the old record of 34 set in 1969. Lake Charles dipped to 35 degrees but also missed the 32 degree record.
Normal high and low this time of year is 74 and 53. Temperatures will remain cool today and tomorrow with normal type temperatures returning Thursday.
