Coast Guard extinguish offshore fire in Gulf

The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed that a fire offshore early this morning has been extinguished. Officials stationed in Morgan City say the fire started after a vessel struck a pipeline off the south central coast of Louisiana. There are no reports of injuries at this time and the incident is under investigation. The Coast Guard remains on the scene.
