The athletic director of North Central High School has pleaded no contest to marijuana possession charge. Clarence "Butch" Fontenot was arrested two weeks ago after investigators say they found marijuana in his car on the school's campus. Fontenot was sentenced to 30 days of unsupervised probation and a $250 fine plus court costs. According to court documents, Judge Alonzo Harris will dismiss the charge if the fine and court costs are paid and the terms of probation are met.
Another coach, Abdule Levier, was also arrested. However, there was no information available about when he will make his court appearance. According to the St. Landry Parish School Board, Levier and Fontenot are still employed and are on paid leave.
