Former Ice Gator Eric Cloutier is out of the dog house tonight after accidentally selling his wife's wedding ring. Cloutier, who now lives in California, sold the $23,000 ring for $5 at a garage sale. He didn't realize it was inside of an empty box for watches.
The people who purchased the box saw the news, looked inside it, and realized they had the ring the Cloutiers were searching for. They immediately returned it.
"You just can't ask for a better ending to a story," Racquel Cloutier, 31, told " Good Morning America." "I don't think I'll be taking it off anytime soon."
Racquel had taken off the ring because she had just given birth, and it didn't fit.
"Whenever you're pregnant, your fingers start to swell so I thought it'd be a good idea to take it off," Racquel said.
The Cloutiers gave the Good Samaritan a $2,000 reward for her honesty.
The article yesterday said $10 because it was listed for $10 at the sale. However, when the couple returned the ring, they reminded them they only paid $5 because they were able to talk them down in the price!
