GOLDEN MEADOW, La. (AP) - A Golden Meadow man was jailed after Lafourche Parish deputies reported finding what they suspect was a marijuana growing system in his closet.
Lafourche narcotics agents who searched the residence Tuesday reported finding seven pots filled with soil along with items to control the lighting and climate in the closet. Agents also located three marijuana leaves, two prescription bottles filled with suspected marijuana seeds, and an additional bottle with suspected marijuana and additional seeds.
The sheriff 44-year-old Steve Cheramie Jr. was booked with production of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held Thursday with bond set at $50,250.
