Clerk Arrested for Theft of Lottery Ticket Money

The Scott Police Criminal Investigations Division received a report from a business about discrepancies in the amount of lottery tickets sold and the amount of money taken in at the register.

Investigators began an investigation and learned that 200 easy 5 and 60 power ball tickets were sold, but the money for the tickets were not accounted for. Investigators conducted interviews with the employees and obtained a confession from an employee identified as Helen Doucet.

Doucet confessed to selling 200 easy 5 and 60 power ball lottery tickets; however, later took the money from the register. Ms. Doucet was arrested and charged with theft.

She's charged with one count of theft.
