Clayton Matthews Jr., plead guilty to manslaughter today for the March 2012 homicide of, Randy Bordelon, Jr.

Matthews and Bordelon were engaged in a domestic relationship. Investigators say, back on March 3rd, the two were involved in a verbal and physical altercation at a local truck-stop casino in Duson. That fight was eventually broken up, but sometime later, the men returned to their home and were involved in another altercation. That althercation eventually led to the death of Bordelon.

According to ADA Pat Magee, "The State of Louisiana would have proved at a trial that during the altercation at the home, Matthews beat, strangled, and slammed Bordelon's head several times eventually causing Bordelon's death the next day. "

The presiding Judge ordered a Pre-Sentencing Investigation and will subsequently schedule Matthews' sentencing date.

District Attorney Harson stated, "Our office remains committed to serving the public by prosecuting domestic violence cases to ensure individuals who commit these crimes are removed from our streets and punished accordingly."
