Cannon smoke and campfire stories will be featured March 1 - 3 as Civil War re-enactors encamp at Louisiana State Museum's E.D. White Historic Site on scenic La. Hwy. 1 in Thibodaux.
The Thibodaux-based re-enactment unit Hellfire Stew Mess/Bouanchaud's Battery will portray both Confederate and Union soldiers telling the history of the Bayou Lafourche region during the Civil War. Participants will also demonstrate infantry drill tactics, camp cooking and other military routine chores.
Hours are 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Friday, March 1; 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2; and 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3. For more information call 985.447.0915
