City of New Iberia Unveils New Website

NEW IBERIA, Louisiana (October 15, 2009). The City of New Iberia is proud to announce the launch of its new website: The City partnered with Firefly Digital of Lafayette to design the site and to integrate a feature called "The Website Gadget." The Gadget enables City staff to manage almost every aspect of the website on a daily basis making it easy to quickly add, edit and delete information and photographs. From updating news items and the events calendar, to current job postings, tax information, Council meeting agendas, even recipes, the City will be providing the very latest information to residents and visitors alike. Because the website is managed by the City, and not the designer, the cost of development and maintenance is extremely low. The new layout allows for easy organization of a lot of data plus the beautiful photography really captures the quality of life in our community.
The new website adds functionality which the City's previous website did not offer, including:
· A strong search engine
· The ability to create on-line forms
· News announcements and current press releases
· User statistic reports
· Daily updates on emergency preparedness
Launched last month was the City's Retire New Iberia website, <>, also designed by Firefly Digital and with similar capabilities as the municipal site. The functionality and ease of access for both sites, we hope, will make them real assets to all users. We welcome your comments and/or suggestions.
