Church Point Hwy Fatal Accident

A single vehicle accident has taken the life of one Church Point resident. The accident happened Saturday evening just after 8 p.m. near 8816 Church Point Hwy. State Police are currently investigating the scene. No further details are available at this time.

*UPDATE

24-year old Petra Briscoe of Eunice was killed after the vehicle she was riding in ran off the road and rolled over. Briscoe was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Matthew Mcbride is now charged with vehicular homicide. Mcbride also is charged with DWI1st offense, careless operation, and being an unlicensed driver.
