A collection of toys is being taken for the annual "Kids Without A Christmas" event in New Iberia. Organizers will be handing out a free drink and bowl of gumbo for those who drop off an unwrapped toy on December 7th. Sacre` Coeur Kaycee Auxiliary Annual Christmas Shopping Extravaganza

Everyone can enjoy a day of dinning and shopping under one roof. 48 venders from throughout the area will be exhibiting. Door prizes every 15 minutes. There will be a concession and sweet booth,consisting of brisket, jambalaya, gumbo, boudin balls, homemade sweets such as pies and candy made by the ladies auxiliary and much more. Money derived will be donated to charity.

5K fund-raiser to benefit Stanford Cormier, a Forest Park Church member who is on the heart transplant list at Ochsners Hospital. The Heart Hustle will take place on Dec. 7 in Crowley. Registration is $20 per adult and will begin at 8 a.m.; the race will begin at 9 a.m. T-shirts will be available for $10. All proceeds will benefit Stanford.

The Solitic Club of Crowley will be hosting it's Annual Jingle Bell Noel on Saturday, December 7 from 10 - 12 at The Town Club of Crowley located at 625 Crowley Rayne Highway in Crowley. Teche Area Builders Association will present the fourth annual Magic on Main holiday event in New Iberia. A Toys for Tots benefit concert is scheduled for Dec 14th at the Rayne Pavilion to raise money for new toys. The event runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and will feature Three Piece White, The Beau Young Band, Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie, and Blake Luquette Acoustic. The Marine Corps Reserve is in charge of this fundraiser to provide toys for those in need. Admission is $10 a person or $5 if you bring a toy.

The Children's Ministries of Asbury United Methodist Church is presenting its first annual "A Drive Thru Bethlehem" beginning at 6 p.m. A short trip by car through the Asbury campus will take visitors through the story of Jesus' birth with live scenes including:

Harps and Handbells

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Inc.
The Bayou Harp Circle is a group of local harpists that formed in 2004 and are now under the direction of Bette Vidrine. Eight of the members will be playing in this year's fundraising concert, and they'll also be joined by singers, flutes and the children of the St. Cecilia Bell Choir. Bringing a unique sound to traditional Holiday music, the artists hope to draw in a crowd that not only enjoys the music but takes the time to learn more about ABL. Harps and Handbells will be located at the Affiliated School for the Blind Training Center on 409 West St. Mary at 3 p.m.
