Choudrant woman killed in 2 vehicle crash

RUSTON, La. (AP) - State police say an 80-year-old Choudrant woman died in a two-vehicle accident in Lincoln Parish.
Trooper Albert Paxton says Melba Jones was westbound on La. Highway 821 northeast of Ruston Tuesday night when she pulled out into the path of a van driven by 38-year-old Lashonda Stringfellow of Farmerville.
Paxton says Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stringfellow sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
