Chilly, winter-like conditions are expected for Acadiana this weekend. A vigorous cool front will bring temperatures down into the mid-40s by morning with chill factors likely in the 30s during the early morning hours near dawn.
Lots of sunshine is expected this weekend with temperatures struggling to reach the lower 60s Saturday afternoon.
The coldest conditions will arrive Saturday night into Sunday morning with lows likely in the mid-upper 30s and frost a good bet along and north of the I-10 parishes.
Temperatures will warm nicely into the upper 60s Sunday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
Quick changes will be on the way Monday as a warm front rushes northward and a disturbance approaches from the west. This will translate to our temperatures getting back into the mid-70s Monday along with a fairly good chance of scattered showers and perhaps a few hefty thunderstorms developing late Monday into Monday night.
Rain chances should decrease Tuesday with another shot at showers possible late Thursday into Friday of next week.
