Child Pornography Arrest

On September 21, 2010, detectives with the Lake Charles office of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a residence located in Basile in Evangeline Parish. A preview of a laptop located at the residence revealed child pornography.
The owner of the computer, 22-year-old Daris Fontenot of Basile, admitted to downloading child pornography. He was arrested for pornography involving juveniles (LRS 14:81.1) and booked into the Evangeline Parish jail.
This arrest is part of the ongoing program called Operation Child Watch. The purpose of this program is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators who prey on the innocence of a child.
