Chief, advocate meet over tire investigation

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Thibodaux's police chief and a local civil rights leader say they both were satisfied after a talk about allegations of police harassment.
The Daily Comet reports that the men's Wednesday meeting was prompted by accusations that city police have been targeting black residents during the search for the vandals who slashed tires at Thibodaux Police headquarters in two separate incidents.
Police said the incidents cost taxpayers more than $7,000. No arrests have been made although authorities said this week they believe they know who slashed the tires.
