GRAY, La. (AP) - Chevron Corp. plans to build a warehouse of at
least 100,000 square feet to help coordinate transportation,
logistics and maintenance for its work in the Gulf of Mexico
Company officials say the facility will be constructed in the
Terrebonne Parish town of Gray with plans for about 25 jobs. It
will be the first of its kind for Chevron.
Chevron spokeswoman Chanel Jolly told The Courier that the
project has been in the works since mid-2010 and other locations in
Louisiana were considered. The Gray site won out because of its
elevation and proximity to Chevron bases in Leeville, Venice and
Construction is expected to start in the second half of 2011 and
take about a year. A final cost has not yet been set.
