LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Executive director Randy Robb says
officials at Chennault International Airport hope to bring an air
show back to Lake Charles by 2013.
Robb says that just about everyone he's
talked to would like to have an air show, and - since the airport
is supported by taxpayers - officials would like to do it for the
Chennault hosted the Lake Charles International Airshow from
1969 until 1999. It lasted two days, consistently drawing crowds of
Chennault officials hope to make the new air show a four-day
event to be held sometime during the school year.
Airport operations director Anthony Ware says he's reaching out
to military commands, and to local sponsors in hopes the event can
be free for the public.
