When Shreveport police say they tried to arrest a man accused of failing to pay $8,700 for vehicle repairs two years ago, he took off in his pickup truck.

Shreveport Police Cpl. Bill Goodin says the 10-minute chase on Tuesday was "a little bit roundabout," but ended at the Caddo Parish Correctional Center.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick says 40-year-old Bobby Parks of Shreveport jumped out of the truck in the jail's parking lot and ran through the main lobby into an area reserved for deputies, where a deputy and Shreveport officers arrested him.

Goodin and Chadwick say they've never heard of a chase that ended at a jail. Chadwick says Parks has been booked into the jail before, so he knew where he was.
