Charges upgraded for Rosalyn Breaux

A 26-year-old Jennings woman accused of fatally shooting a Welsh man and injuring another was indicted this week on charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Rosalyn Breaux pleaded not guilty earlier this month to charges of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter. As expected, a grand jury reconvened this week and upgraded the charges.

She is accused of fatally shooting 33-year-old Jeremy Ardoin and injuring Nick Coble.

Breaux's attorney, Ric Oustalet Jr., has claimed she was "standing her ground" and acted in fear for her life. He also says Breaux and one of the victims had a violent history.

She is accused of fatally shooting 33-year-old Jeremy Ardoin and injuring Nick Coble in June.

Breaux remains in the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on a $750,500 bond.
