Supporters of Presidents Obama's healthcare reform bill got together today at St. James Baptist Church in Lafayette.
It was a part of a grass roots movement making its way across the nation.
The group traveled from New orleans to spread their message.
They focused on senior citizens and the health care bill's impact on them.
"It's not all the time that I can pay the whole amount sometimes I have to do without," says bill supporter Joseph Durall.
The groups organizer Rosalind Davis Smith is a cancer survivor.
She says her battle was tough because she was denied health care because of a pre-existing condition, something the new healthcare bill is addressing.
The healthcare bill has passed the house vote, it still needs approval from the senate before it becomes law.
