It should be a busy year in building for Central Louisiana.
Perhaps the highest-profile project is the $23 million makeover to the Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria.
The Town Talk reports construction is expected to take approximately 18 months and end with a like-new arena.
Plans call for giving the coliseum a new, modern exterior for curb appeal; replacing existing seating and building new seating to increase capacity, including suites; overhauling technology such as lighting, sound, video and electrical systems.
Another ongoing major project is the Fort Buhlow Bridge project. The new bridge will replace the O.K. Allen, which was built more than 70 years ago.
The new bridge spanning the Red River between Alexandria and Pineville will be four lanes instead of two.
