An autopsy was conducted yesterday afternoon and the pathologist's official ruling was death by self inflicted gunshot wound. Evidence indicates that 28 year old Keith C Trosclair of Patterson La. apparently shot himself as he traveled on I-49 North. Trosclair's vehicle came to rest in the outside lane on the overpass which crosses Harry Guilbeau Rd. Officers did locate a 45. Cal handgun in Trosclair's car. Evidence at the scene suggests an unsuspecting motorist, also traveling north, struck Mr. Trosclair's vehicle from the rear causing it to come to rest on the On-Ramp of I-49 North. OPD is asking anyone with any information regarding this second vehicle or its driver to please contact OPD at (337) 948-2500. Evidence collected from a possible point of impact indicates that the second vehicle could be a Lincoln Town/Car.
