Cat Tales and Doggie Monologues IV

LAFAYETTE, La. - Acting Up (in Acadiana), the professional theatre company in residence at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, presents CAT TALES AND DOGGIE MONOLOGUES IV, the 2013 Student Showcase. An original play written by company members, Harmony Decker, and numerous authors who submitted from around the country. Performances take place Wednesday and Thursday February 27 and 28, 2013 at 6:30 PM at the AcA.

CAT TALES AND DOGGIE MONOLGUES IV personifies the stories of animals who live or who have lived at Lafayette Animal Aid, a no kill shelter, or at other no kill shelters. Both humorous and touching, the production aims to educate the public about the mission of LAA and animal rescue and adoption. Young actors also learn about how they can make a difference through their art.

Directed by Amy Waguespack, with assistants George Saucier, Kara Guarisco, and Heaven Moore, CAT TALES AND DOGGIE MONOLOGUES IV features performances by over 40 actors ages 7-16. Wish List and monetary donations will be accepted for LAA. Included in the wish list are:

· FOR THE DOGS: Purina Dog and Puppy Chow, small Milkbones, "Kong" style dog toys, Pet taxis of all sizes, Leashes, Martingale Collars, Advantage or Frontline Flea preventative for all weights, HeartGuard Heartworm Preventative, Kuranda dog beds - visit website for details;

· FOR THE CATS, Purina Cat and Kitten Chow, Cat Toys, Pine Pellets cat litter, Advantage and Frontline Flea preventative , Rubbermaid or Sterilite plastic bins of approximately 18 gallon size;

· For the LAA Volunteers, Postage stamps, Towels, blankets and sheets (used is fine, but no polyfill, please), Paper towels, Toilet paper, Garbage liners (heavy duty), Dishwashing liquid, Scrubbing brushes, Bleach, Rubber and disposable · gloves, Flea spray (indoor/outdoor), Brooms and dustpans, Sponge and spring mops, Dish scrubbers, General office supplies (paper, staples,etc).

All performances will take place at Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion, Lafayette. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children high school ages and under.
