Casino Robbery Suspect Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge

A suspect in a Grand Coteau casino robbery has been arrested in connection with an unrelated shooting. Joseph Chevis is in the St. Landry Parish jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder and armed robbery. Police say the Joseph Chevis fired at an occupied car. The condition of the victim is unknown.

Chevis was wanted for the December 10 armed robbery at Pot O' Gold Casino. Another suspect in the robbery, Ben Chavis, was arrested on December 18.
