A federal judge is continuing the case of 15 former and current Lafayette Police officers suing 7 high ranking officers within the department and consolidated government. Both sides were scheduled in court September 25.
Judge Patrick Hanna continued the case until October 16. The defendants in the case, to include Police Chief Jim Craft and LCG, have until October 2 to file any new memos in regards new allegations filed September 21. Then the plaintiffs, 15 former and current LPD officers, have until October 9 to file any responses. At that point, Judge Hanna says the both sides are no longer allowed to file any responses.
The hearing on October 16 will discuss the original motion to dismiss the case filed earlier this month, as well as the new allegations and any responses filed.
