Carencro Police Investigate Theft Of 89-Year-Old

The Carencro Police Department has concluded an investigation in which an 89 year old female was victim to felony theft.

The department investigated a complaint in which the victim had a care giver who was assigned to her home by Lafayette Area Council on Aging, who was found to have taken advantage of the elderly female and ultimately stole $5,792.48 from the victim's checking account. Detectives discovered that the suspect took over the victim's checking account and paid her personal bills and daily purchases from the victim's checking account. This extensive investigation leads to the arrest of the following person:

ARRESTED:

Barbara George Felix, B/F 200 block Texas Street Lafayette, LA. 70501

Charges: 24 counts of theft of assets of an aged person
22 counts of access device fraud
3 counts of forgery
