A Carencro man is behind bars for allegedly setting two homes and a truck on fire and pulling a gun on three people.
The incident took place around 10 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Reynosa Road in Carencro. The suspect, 60-year-old Michael Delcambre, was arrested at the scene.
Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputies say Delcambre admitted to setting one of the trailer homes on fire by lighting a t-shirt and placing it in the middle room of the mobile home. The flames from that blaze, they say, spread to a second home on the property.
Deputies also say Delcambre fired shots after pulling the gun on the victims. According to deputies, the victims say they saw Delcambre firing into the air.
According to the arrest affidavit, Delcambre told deputies the victim allegedly stole from him, making him mad so he "is ending it all today".
Delcambre is charged with two counts of simple arson and three counts of aggravated assault. He remains in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center with bond set at $175,000.
