Carencro police have arrested a 15-year-old Carencro High student on charges of sexual battery on a female student. Investigators say the suspect "touched the victim in an inappropriate sexual manner" after the victim attempted to walk away from "an unsolicited sexually inappropriate conversation." The suspect was released into his parents' custody. The case has been sent to the district attorney's office for review.
Lafayette Superintendent Dr. Cooper said the boy will not return to Carencro High School. The student has been recommended for expulsion and will be sent to N.P. Moss Preparatory or AMIkids, a motivational and inspirational program for troubled students.
