After an early morning lock down at Carencro High School, Carencro Police Chief Stout says there was a threat received yesterday that caused concern.

Reserve officers were called to the campus to do a sweep of each student as they unloaded off the buses with metal detectors and bookbag searches. The students were then placed in the boys gym while police checked classrooms.

Officials said that they did not think that this was a credible threat, but wanted to insure the safety of the students. The threat was reported that someone had claimed they would bring a weapon to school.

School will resume as normal.
