A national homebuilder has come to town setting off a home-building frenzy in upper Lafayette.
Carncro is seeing one of the largest building booms in our area. The Envie subdivision, one of several popping up in the city is sparking interest from home seekers across Acadiana. Realtor Dan Fuseilier says they can hardly keep up with the demand, especially since national builder D.R. Horton stepped into the Lafayette market.
"They came in big time, and not only are we here in Envie subdivision, but there are plans for additional neighborhoods in the future." said Fuseilier
D.R. Horton originating in the Dallas, Fort Worth metroplex seeks active home building markets, already, Dan Fuselier says they've sold 32 homes in the Envie subdivision off East St. Peter St. 29 of those houses, have yet to be built!
"The demand has always been here, so we came in with a very good product at a very affordable price, and we tapped into an untapped demand." said Fuselier
A total of 75 homes will be built in phase one of the project. All homes are set to be complete in April of 2010.
