KENNER, La. (AP) - Kenner Fire Chief John Hellmers says a driver
crashed a car into the front of a fire station on Christmas, and
was injured when his head went through the windshield.
Kenner police say 29-year-old Mario Perez, no local address, was
treated at a hospital and then booked with drunk driving and with
driving without a license, license plate or insurance.
Lt. Wayne McInnis says Perez also had two arrest attachments
from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Hellmers says the 6:15 a.m. accident disabled the fire stations'
big front overhead doors, so the station is using the back door
into the parking lot until repairs can be made.
It was not immediately clear whether Perez had an attorney.
