The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office tells KATC that the car involved in a hit and run in Bayou Vista that left an elderly woman hospitalized, has been recovered in Raceland.

The black 1997 Nissan Maxima with Louisiana tag SAD 028 hit 60 year old Palma Dehart in a Wal Mart parking lot. The driver also hit another woman in the lot, before driving off.

We're told that Thibodaux Police processed car, although it was discovered in Raceland.

Investigators are still looking for the driver, witnesses say he's a black male in his teens to mid-twenties. He was wearing a white T-shirt and a red cap at the time of the hit and run.

The vehicle was registered to a female in Thibodaux.
