Car Flips, One Dead in Early Morning Crash

One person is dead after a car overturned this morning on I-49 in Opelousas. Police say two southbound cars collided near mile marker 15. One of the cars ran off the road, flipped, and landed on the service road, killing a passenger inside it. Other passengers were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries. The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
