Car Crash Kills Carencro Man

On April 25, 2010, at 11:45 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the intersection of I-49 and East Butcher Switch Road regarding a single vehicle crash. A witness advised traffic investigators that a 1999 white Ford Mustang was traveling north on I-49, when he attempted to switch to the left lane of travel. While changing lanes the vehicle lost control and entered the median, causing the vehicle to flip. Both the front passenger and driver were ejected from the car. The driver, Marlon Roy (34) of Carencro, was transported to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead. The passenger received only minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Section.
