Candidate for Council Squashes Dropping Out Rumor

Candidate for City Council in Ville Platte wants to put a stop to a rumor about ending her candidacy. Myra "Griffin" Fontenot is still running for City Council District D in Ville Platte.
"I have been receiving phone calls and I have been confronted by people of my community about a rumor that was started. There is a rumor that I have backed out of the election race in Evangeline Parish due to the death of my father or even my father dying. Yes my father is ill, but I have not and will not back out of the election for this reason or no other reason at all," said Fontenot.
The election is Saturday October 2.
