LAFAYETTE - Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) has expanded its Commission on Cancer-accredited oncology services to the residents of Acadia Parish with the opening of Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at American Legion Hospital.
CCA now offers locations in Lafayette, Mamou, Abbeville and Crowley. The new CCA satellite location offers the same clinical treatments as those in Lafayette and in renowned cancer centers in Houston and throughout the country.
Cancer Center of Acadiana at American Legion Hospital brings an identity as a top cancer treatment facility in the area, which should provide comfort to both patients and their families. Oncologists from Lafayette General, including Victoria Panelli, M.D., will spend time working at American Legion Hospital. American Legion Hospital now contains a medical oncology clinic and is licensed for a six-chair infusion center.
The infusion rooms at the new Cancer Center of Acadiana at American Legion Hospital feature comfortable new furniture and amenities, bolstering the "whole person" approach of LGMC's oncology program. The CCA at American Legion will open to customers on Monday, May 13.
