SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell says at next month's commission meeting he will ask all electric utilities in Louisiana to send automated telephone and text messages to customers when outages occur.
Campbell said Friday he envisions companies notifying customers under a system that would include information such as expected restoration time and the cause of an outage.
Campbell notes that Entergy Inc. already has such a system operating in their Louisiana territories. He says he will ask all electric utilities regulated by the Public Service Commission to do likewise at the Aug. 6 meeting in Baton Rouge.
