Calcasieu seniors invited to Senior Citizens Academy

Calcasieu Parish seniors are invited to join the Senior Citizens Academy to learn more about their community with important topics such as the role of law enforcement in Calcasieu Parish, and how they can help keep their streets safe. The Calcasieu TRIAD Senior Citizens Academy will provide similar topics each month to offer a rewarding learning experience for seniors in the parish.

Registration is free and open to anyone 55 years of age or older. Monthly sessions will be approximately three hours long and include a continental breakfast and/or lunch to registered participants. Academy participants will be required to attend one educational activity per month for six months starting June 26, 2013. To register and be put on the mailing list of events, call Adele Mart at 721-4020 or email at by June 12, 2013.

TRIAD is a partnership between the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, District Attorney, Sheriff, Ward 3 City Marshall and City of Lake Charles. TRIAD's purpose is to identify and develop programs to address the needs and concerns of senior citizens.
